FFL Round 6 saw The Kelpies move to the top of the ladder after making heavy weather of beating Away FC. The Mongrels, All Stars, Rock For Cash and Swami Sensation all posted wins and are just a game behind The Kelpies, along with Tom Dogs who did lose.
Round Seven sees some very interesting matchups.
Kostusthegame v Village Idiots
What a game this promises to be! Both teams are on four points and quite frankly dear reader, your humble correspondent is just happy that both teams have players playing and we won't have another 0-0 draw, like last season.
Prediction: Kostusthegame look too good.
All Stars v The Kelpies
The first Cope Liberatore for the season in the local Werribee derby. Could be a close one although The Kelpies are missing Lance F. Kelpie and the home ground advantage is with The All Stars. For their part, The All Stars are playing well.
Prediction: The All Stars might have too much firepower, this week.
Swami Sensation v Such Is Life
Swami are just hanging onto the coattails of the top five and look well out of form. Such Is Life Coach Dr Shaun is back from The Seychelles and he is looking fit, tanned and relaxed...at least as fit, tanned and relaxed as a ginger Irish descendant lad can look after a week in the sun. The Lifers left Benny Cousins in charge while Dr Shaun was away and Benny has wrecked everything at Lifersland. Time to rebuild after several losses on the spin.
Prediction: Such Is Life will be way too good.
Away FC v Tom Dogs
The Tommy Dogs lost to a solid team last week, so no disgrace there. Away FC have been underperforming but they play in black and white, so to be expected.
Prediction: The Tom Dogs will be easy winners here.
Rock For Cash v Mitch's Mongrels
The Commissioners Cup rears its ugly head again for the first time this season. Rock For Cash have the worst forward line in the comp on paper but The Rock does manage to get them fired up from time to time. Even then, will it be enough? The Mongrels have a lowest score this season of 197 and have five on the spin over 200! Impressive. That said, they have still lost twice.
Prediction: It's going to be a world of FFL pain for The Rock. Mitch's Mongrels to hammer the Cash Lads.
