After weeks of inactivity following the 2013 season - earlier finish for some than others, then a few days of debating a suitable date for the FFL Draft, contacting everyone to attend said draft, draft weekend festivities, then finally training our respective squads, we have finally reached the point where we commence our seasons.
In less than a week, we start!
Kostusthegame v Tom Dogs. Con v Tommy Dog in Tom's debut match as a senior coach. Con has loads of experience. Tom has the energy, enthusiasm and derring-do to take on the sizeable challenge ahead of him.
Prediction: Tom Dogs
Such Is Life v Mitch's Mongrels. The old mates put aside their friendship when they take on each other at The Lifers home ground in the west. Both teams have a solid squad.
Prediction: Mitch's Mongrels.
The Kelpies v Rock For Cash. Two semi finalists from 2013. The Rock took the cash when they last met. New squads now. Could be a close one.
Prediction: The Kelpies
Village Idiots v Away FC. The Scarlett Pimpernel has been in contact with Co-Commissioner Rock over the holiday break and has actually submitted a team for round one, which is more than last season. Pete is somewhere, mulling over his team of black and whites. Anything at all is possible in this match, except for a mundane match. We may even see Jake King in the ruck yet.
Prediction: Away FC.
All Stars v Swami Sensation. The All Stars have been solidly self flagellating, as is their pre-season ritual each year, whilst Nick Swami has been talking it big about his past performance prior to 1994. The All Stars have a better squad on paper, can they produce it again on the field.
Prediction: All Stars
