Our third team being reviewed is
Swami Sensation
Swami Sensation are managed by the fabulously sarcastic and always hilarious Nick Gia. No other coach manages to unleash such vitriol and fury in his emails over such futile issues as Nick Gia.
And for that reason, this guy is an absolutely top bloke who is to be commended for his candour.
That being said, if he spent as much time coaching his team as he does on his emails, it's fair to say that his team would perform more effectively.
Only four wins last season but given his team was burned at the draft, I guess it wasn't the worst possible return.
This year Nick was a surprise, yet welcome participant at the draft and it has to be said, Nick has drafted some solid players.
Swami Sensation will feature Josh Kennedy, Jay Schulz and the Frenchman up front. In the midfield, they have Bryce Gibbs, up and coming players Adam Treloar and The Jaegar Bomb. sam Jacobs is a very solid ruckman and overall, Swami look to have drafted pretty well, all in all.
Can they make the finals? Definitely.
Will they make the finals? Maybe.
One thing is for sure and for certain, Nick Gia will provide some entertainment with his comments.
Prediction: Swami Sensation look to have the ingredients for a solid season and potentially the finals.
Last season's fourth worst team is the newly renamed
Away FC
Everyone loves Pete M and he is definitely one of the best blokes of the FFL. it is fair to say however that Pete's teams in years gone by have been underachievers. They did make the big dance in 2010, just falling short in their quest for their inaugural FFL flag.
For many years Pete has relied on the black white element of Collingwood players and only straying away from that tried and true format in, hang on, yep, 2010. Nevertheless, Pete has stayed true to his love of the pies and he has again instructed Commissioner Mitchell to draft a host of Collingwood players.
Will it work for the big man? No, not a snowball's chance in hell, but it's always fun to watch.
Having said all that, Away FC does have some handy players. Dane Swan will shoulder much of the midfield expectation for Away FC supporters and he will be supported strongly by Keiran Jack. Kurt Tippett is a good player, as are Aaron Black and Luke Ball. The rest of the list looks a tad light on but the jewel in the Away FC crown could well be Heretier La La La Lumumba!
Prediction: Looks a big ask for Away FC to make the finals but you never know.
